YOUR CERTIFICATION JOURNEY

  • 1. Book your hybrid course

    Fill out the form, request a date, and complete the purchase. Allow 1-2 days to complete the online course before attending your in-person training session.

  • 2. Confirmation & registration

    Watch for an email from your instructor confirming your session, along with a link to the AHA eLearning platform to set up your account in just a few simple steps.

  • 3. Complete the online course

    Once your account is set up, you can begin the online course immediately. After finishing the course, email your completion certificate to your instructor.

  • 4. In-person training session

    Meet your instructor to practice hands-on skills and be assessed. Your instructor will provide immediate feedback and confirm if you’ve passed.

  • 5. Receive your certificate

    Your instructor will submit your results to the AHA. Within 2-3 days the AHA will issue your certificate, which your instructor will then email directly to you.

Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS)

  • The Basic Life Support (BLS) course is tailored for healthcare professionals who need to respond to life-threatening emergencies. The course includes an online cognitive section and an in-person skills session. Participants will learn critical skills such as CPR for adults, children, and infants, AED use, airway management, and team dynamics in multi-rescuer situations.

  • The Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED course provides essential training in life-saving techniques. It covers first aid basics, adult CPR, AED use, and how to respond to various emergencies. This course is taught in a blended learning format, with an online segment followed by a hands-on skills session to help you apply what you’ve learned.

    • Online Course: 1.25 hours

    • In-person Skills Session: 1 hour

    • Course Completion Card: Valid for 2 years

    • CEH: 0.1 possible Continuing Education Hours

    • First Aid Basics: Recognizing and responding to common first aid emergencies

This blended learning course combines an online segment with a hands-on skills session, ensuring you're prepared to handle emergencies like choking, injuries, and medical issues in children or infants.

    • Online Course: 3 hours

    • In-person Skills Session: 1 hour

    • Course Completion Card: Valid for 2 years

    • Prerequisite: None

    • CEH: 0.2 possible Continuing Education Hours

  • First Aid Basics: 

    • Recognizing and responding to common first aid emergencies

    • Preventing illnesses and injuries

    • Controlling bleeding, bandaging, and using a tourniquet

    • Managing internal bleeding, amputations, broken bones, and sprains

    • Addressing poison, burns, electrical injuries, allergic reactions, bites, stings, splinters, and nosebleeds

    • Treating injuries to the head, eyes, neck, spine, mouth, and teeth

    Medical Emergencies:

    • Emphasis on pediatric emergencies

    • Environmental emergencies, including heat and cold-related issues

    • Managing drowning, fainting, seizures, breathing problems, shock, dehydration, and conditions like diabetes and low blood sugar

    CPR, AED & Choking:

    • Performing CPR and using an AED for children and infants

    • Preventing and managing choking for infants and children

  • This course is ideal for anyone who cares for children, including childcare workers, teachers, coaches, camp counselors, and parents. It’s designed to prepare you to act confidently in pediatric emergencies, providing life-saving skills to help in the first moments until professional help arrives.
