Return Policy

Effective Date: February 21 2025

Heart Defenders is committed to providing high-quality CPR and first aid training. This policy outlines our refund, cancellation, and rescheduling guidelines for both private and group bookings.

  • Full Refunds

    A full refund is available if:

    • The online course registration has not been started (for both private and group bookings).

    Partial Refunds

    Partial refunds may be granted in the following situations:

    • Private Bookings: If the online course has been started, but you choose to train with a different provider, you may receive a partial refund of $85.

    • Group Bookings: If the online course has been started, a per-person administrative fee will apply:

      • Basic Life Support (BLS) course: $40 per person

      • Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED and Heartsaver® and Pediatric First Aid CPR AED courses: $25 per person

      • Heartsaver® CPR AED and Heartsaver® First AId courses: $20 per person

      • The remaining balance will be refunded to the group facilitator.

  • Private Bookings

    • Cancellations must be made at least 12 hours in advance.

    • After cancellation, you may choose to:

      • Reschedule your session OR

      • Receive a partial refund of $85.

    Group Bookings

    • Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance.

    • Late cancellations (within 48 hours) may incur a $50 cancellation fee, at the instructor’s discretion.

  • Private Bookings

    If the instructor arrives at the agreed location and the customer is a no-show, the customer may:

    • Reschedule the session for a $10 rescheduling fee, OR

    • Receive a partial refund of $75 and switch to a different provider.

    Group Bookings

    • If the instructor arrives and the class is canceled on-site, a $50 cancellation fee will apply.

    • The group may choose to:

      • Reschedule OR

      • Receive a partial refund, depending on the circumstances.

    • Refunds will be processed using the original payment method.

    • Refunds typically take 5-7 business days to reflect, depending on the payment provider.

    • Partial refunds for group bookings will be issued to the group facilitator.

    • Once a customer completes the online course and in-person training and receives certification, refunds are no longer available.

    • If a customer fails the course, the instructor may offer a discounted rate for a retake, at their discretion.

Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Agreement") govern your use of the services provided by Heart Defenders ("we," "us," "our"). By using our website and services, you agree to comply with and be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully before booking a course.

    • There is no age limit for participating in our courses, but we recommend participants be over 10 years old.

    • If you are under 18 years old, you may be required to obtain parental or guardian consent and complete a release of liability form before participating.

  • Heart Defenders provides the following services:

    1. Facilitation of the online course.

    2. Provision of an in-person training session with assessment.

    3. Registration of your certification with the American Heart Association (AHA) upon successful course completion.

    4. Issuance of your certification upon successful completion.

    • To secure your training session, you must complete the booking process on our website and submit full payment for the course.

    • A valid email address must be provided to facilitate communication throughout your certification process.

  • By enrolling in a course, you agree to:

    • Coordinate a suitable time and location with your instructor for the in-person training session.

    • Complete the online portion of the course before attending the in-person session.

    • Submit proof of completion of the online course (via email) before attending in-person training.

    Failure to complete these steps may result in delays or the need to reschedule at an additional cost.

    • Private Training: Prices are fixed and must be paid in full at the time of booking.

    • Group Training: Pricing is based on a per-person rate and requires full payment to secure a training date and access the online course platform.

    • Refunds and Cancellations: Information about refunds, cancellations, and rescheduling is outlined in our Return Policy.

    • We respect your privacy and handle your personal information securely.

    • Your contact details, email, and purchase history will be stored for up to two (2) years to assist with training-related communication and record-keeping.

    • You may request early deletion of your data by contacting us at hello@heartdefenderscpr.com. Requests will be processed within 30 days.

    • Heart Defenders is not responsible for injuries, damages, or any consequences following course completion and certification.

    • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use our training services.

    • We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue services at any time, with or without prior notice.

    • Material changes to our services will be communicated only to customers currently enrolled in training or certification via the email provided at booking.

    • Certification is earned by successfully completing both the online and in-person portions of the course and passing the required assessments.

    • While our instructors provide guidance and support, certification is not guaranteed.

  • By using our services, you acknowledge and agree to these Terms of Service.

    • We reserve the right to update or modify these terms at any time.

    • If changes affect customers currently enrolled in training or certification, we will notify them via the email provided at booking.

    • Continued use of our services after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Privacy Policy

At Heart Defenders, we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, store, and share your personal information. By using our services, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

  • We collect the following personal information when you book a course:

    • Name, email, phone number, billing address, and course selection.

    • Payment information (processed through Squarespace Payments, but not stored by us).

    We also collect limited website analytics data through Squarespace and third-party tools (see Cookies & Tracking below).

  • We use your personal information to:

    • Process bookings and manage the certification journey.

    • Provide customer support and respond to inquiries.

    • Communicate with you regarding course registration, completion, and certification.

    • Send recertification reminders (if you have not requested data deletion).

    • Your personal information is stored securely within Squarespace and Tutanota, which adhere to industry-standard security protocols.

    • Payment processing is encrypted and securely handled by Squarespace Payments.

    • We do not sell, rent, or trade customer personal data.

  • We may share limited personal information only when necessary for certification purposes:

    • American Heart Association (AHA) – to register and issue your certification.

    • CPR Training Services (CPRTS) – to facilitate certification processing.

    This data is not shared for marketing purposes and is used strictly to complete your certification.

    • Our website uses Squarespace Analytics to track website traffic and improve functionality.

    • We may implement additional tools such as Google Console for website performance monitoring, but we do not use advertising tracking at this time.

    • You can manage cookie preferences using our cookie banner.

    • You have the right to request access to the personal data we store or to request deletion of your data at any time.

    • Deletion requests will be processed within 30 days.

    • We retain customer information for up to two (2) years to assist with potential recertification reminders.

    • After two years, personal data will be permanently deleted, unless required for legal or administrative purposes.

    • You may request earlier deletion by contacting us.

    • Any updates to this policy will be posted on our website.
